Today I share with you a prayer from St. Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower. She was born in Alencon, France in 1873. Therese is known as the Little Flower, because she saw herself as a flower in the garden of God, honoring God by “being herself among all the other flowers in God’s garden”. (source) In 1888, she entered the Carmel of Lisieux, and became a Carmelite Nun on September 8, 1890. She died of tuberculosis at the age of 24. She is the Patron Saint of missions, gardeners and florists. (source)
I chose this prayer today because I believe peace and unity throughout the world must begin with peace with ourselves. We must love ourselves and be content with ourselves before we can spread that peace to others.
